I've managed 513 words but keep getting interrupted so I'm giving it up as a bad job tonight! Why is it scenes you think are gonna be short and easy to write evolve beyond recognition? And take double the amount of words???
Mmm. Because they are interesting, so you want to do your best for them? I always think it's lovely when that happens - it's like a baby growing inside you. And you can always cut and trim it later (er, unlike a baby...)
I agree Jan it is lovely! I'm not one for a strict outline - too disciplined for me! But the scene I'm doing I thought would take a couple of pages, I feel like I've been writing it for ages and the hero's not even appeared yet!!! Glad you cleared up the baby comment! :D
I am a wannabe or pre-published writer. Happily married to Big G, my own hero, with two amazing children.
I've always adored books and have been an avid reader all of my life. I read if I'm happy, sad, bored... I read crime, mystery, fantasy, sci-fi and occasionally literary.
Above all I read romance. Whatever genre of book I am reading I love the romance, the happy ending. So after some advice from one of my favourite novelists I joined the Romantic Novelists Association and I hope that one day I might be up there on the shelves among the authors I respect so much.
Until then I shall just keep trying.
